A bank operations officer was shot dead by the bank’s own guard yesterday as the latter committed a robbery in Subang Jaya.
Selangor deputy police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said in the 6.18pm incident, Noazita Abu Talib was shot in the face after she had opened the bank’s strong room with four other colleagues.
The victim, a 37 year old mother of 2, had been with the bank for 16 years and the body has been sent to the University Malaya medical centre for post-mortem.
The suspect has been identified as Ardi Hamza, reportedly from Tawau, Sabah.
According to Datuk Abdul Rahim, police have launched a manhunt for the 37 year old suspect, who escaped on a motorcycle.
Initial investigations also revealed that the suspect had worked at this bank several times prior, using a fake identity card.
