VILLAGE elders in Rohtak, Chandigarh, northern India, have urged the central government to restrict Internet access for youths and ban porn sites to prevent deteriorating moral values in society.

Malaysia Nanban reported that the village leaders felt that declining moral standards and delayed implementation of strict laws were to be blamed for honour killings in the state.

They said the government should take concrete steps to ban porn sites. They also wanted the authorities to resume moral science classes in schools.

The leaders of the village panchayat endorsed a resolution on these moves and sent it to the government, seeking immediate implementation.
