Two Pakistani men were given the death sentence today for trafficking in over 80 kilogrammes of drugs two years ago.
33 year old trader, Muhammad Shahbaz, and his friend, Imran Khan Jan Gul Shah, 30, were found guilty of trafficking 71.9 kilogrammes of heroin and 8.8kilogrammes of monoacetyl morphine at a shoplot in Taman Puncak Jalil, Bandar Putra Permai at 4.30pm on April 6, 2011.
As soon as sentence was passed by Shah Alam High Court judge Ahmadi Asnawi, Muhammad Shahbaz collapsed.
He was laid on a bench but recovered a short while later.
The judge earlier ruled that the defence had failed to raise a reasonable doubt in the case.
The duo were picked up during a raid at the shop when police found 155 packets of drugs in 255 boxes containing comforters, towels, clothes and blankets.
