Four parang-wielding men robbed a goldsmith shop in Mentakab, Pahang this morning escaping with jewellery worth some 3.2 million ringgit.
The heist was captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the outlet.
The robbers stormed into the premise at 9.30am shortly after it opened for business and threatened the outlet manager with their weapons to open the safe.
Police have set up roadblocks at several exit points to nab the suspects.
Based on their modus operandi, the authorities believed the group could have also be responsible for the robbery of a goldsmith in Karak last month.
On June 20th six men also armed with parangs robbed a goldsmith shop of 400,000 ringgit worth of jewellery.
