A father and son were shot last night after a group of robbers broke into their house in Kampar, Perak.
Luckily the two survived the ordeal and are currently undergoing treatment in hospital.
In the 8.30pm incident, 51-year-old Zahari Din and his family members were about to leave their house in Taman Sejahtera when the robbers suddenly barged into the house.
He then grabbed a parang to protect his family and tried to chase the intruders out.
However, one of the suspects managed to fire a shot during the scuffle.
The bullet penetrated the man’s abdomen before hitting his 13-year-old son, Zaharith Aiman Mahami, who was standing nearby, injuring his right thigh.
The suspects then escaped in a Proton Perdana but police managed to arrest one of them after he crashed into another car while trying to escape a police roadblock near Tapah at 11.30pm.
Both the father and son had been taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Ipoh for treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
Police have also launched a manhunt for the two remaining suspects.
