Police have busted 10 drug syndicates which have been active in the Klang Valley.
This follows a crackdown by the authorities since early this year which resulted in the arrest of the syndicates’ members.
Kuala Lumpur Deputy CID Chief Supt Adnan Azizon said drugs worth 8.8 million ringgit were also seized from these syndicates.
Meanwhile police rounded up 689 people for various drug related offences in a 48-hour operation, code-named “Ops Tapis Khas” since Friday.
Those detained, including 58 women, were locals aged between 18 and 51.
458 of them tested positive for drugs.
The operation covered areas like Chow Kit, considered a drug hotspot where 130 people were detained and tested positive for drugs.
