A lorry-load of fire crackers and fireworks, destined for the Malaysian market, was seized at the Malaysian-Thai border town of Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah early this morning.
According to the General Operations Forces, the lorry contained 328 boxes of various types of fire crackers and fireworks valued at more than half-a-million ringgit.
Initial investigation revealed that the lorry was parked at the side of the road because the driver was waiting for an appropriate time to enter the country.
The lorry has been towed to the Bukit Kayu Hitam police station for further action.
Police are currently trying to trace the lorry owner.
