A group of robbers escaped with 70 thousand ringgit this morning, after they broke into an ATM machine at the Giant Hypermarket in Taman Kinrara, Puchong with a gas torch.
But that wasn’t the last of them the suspects also cleaned out two safes, at a goldsmith shop and the management office, in the building.
According to police, workers arriving for work at 8 this morning, discovered the premises in a mess, before alerting authorities.
Initial investigation showed that the suspects had punched a hole through the concrete wall near a dumpster at the hypermarket, to enter the premise.
They then used an oxy acetylene torch to break into the cash machine located on the first floor before proceeding to the goldsmith shop.
The total amount of losses is still unknown.
Police believe that more than one person was involved in the heist and that the group was very familiar with the hypermarket’s layout.
The culprits identities are currently being detected based on CCTV footage’s at the surrounding areas.
