22 foreigners including 14 women, were detained by the Kuala Lumpur Immigration authorities in two separate raids last night.
In the first operation at a reflexology centre on Jalan Bukit Bintang, nine women and 8 men were arrested.
All the women were working as masseuses while the men were believed to be their customers.
Five of the women tried to escape after seeing the authorities, but were immediately rounded up.
In the second raid at a massage centre in Sri Petaling, five foreign women aged between 27 and 44, were detained.
According to Kuala Lumpur Immigration assistant director, James Musa Singa, most of them were found to have misused their social visit passes while others had overstayed or did not possess valid travel documents.
Those detained were taken to the Jalan Duta immigration office for further investigation.
