A Nigerian textile seller was sent to the gallows by the Shah Alam High Court after finding him guilty of drug trafficking two years ago.
36 year old Paul Anayo Madubugwu was charged with trafficking 5.4 kilograms of syabu at the KLIA arrival hall on January 25th, 2011.
The drugs were hidden inside three rusted metal cyclinders.
The charge, under Section 29B of the Dangerous Drugs Act, provides a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Judge Noor Azian Shaari, in his ruling today, said Paul Anayo Madubugwu’s testimony was a mere denial.
Seven prosecution witnesses and two defence witnesses had testified throughout the trial.
